We are hiring; here is the job posting. Details also pasted below:
The public interest law firm Eubanks & Associates, PLLC (“E&A”) is seeking an attorney with 0-10 years of relevant experience to begin in early 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic law firm that has long been on the cutting edge of addressing the most important and challenging environmental, wildlife, natural resource, public lands, energy, and government transparency issues facing our nation.
About Eubanks & Associates, PLLC: E&A litigates important issues on behalf of dozens of national, regional, and local conservation, public health, and consumer safety organizations, as well as individuals and municipalities in some cases. We carry on the legacy of the law practice created in 1993 by our predecessor firm, which was most recently named Meyer Glitzenstein & Eubanks LLP. Our practice is national in scope, often involves legal issues of first impression, and represents public interest organizations in the United States Supreme Court, federal appellate courts, and federal trial courts. We have a distinguished track record of strategic ligation to achieve significant, lasting protections for the environment, communities, and public health. Our attorneys, who have won numerous awards and distinctions, have obtained more than 60 legal victories in federal courts around the country. Additional information regarding our work, clients, and team is available at www.eubankslegal.com.
About the position: E&A’s diverse docket focuses on environmental protection, federal public lands and natural resource conservation, ocean and wetland preservation, biodiversity and wildlife law, health and consumer safety, and open government. The team member hired for this position will serve as a litigator with significant responsibility in several or all of these topical areas. Responsibilities will include drafting pleadings and briefs, engaging in oral advocacy before federal appellate and trial courts, and managing a docket of cases; investigating facts and developing legal theories and case strategies; preparing comments and advocating on behalf of clients in federal administrative proceedings; negotiating and litigating fee recovery matters; and managing relationships with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and coalition partners. Because lawyers at E&A are responsible for every aspect of their docket—from researching an initial complaint through a case’s final resolution in district or appellate courts—E&A offers an excellent opportunity to hone a full suite of foundational public interest litigation skills.
Qualifications: We are seeking a collaborative, fun, and creative team player with strong writing skills, a diligent work ethic, an interest in maintaining a fast-paced litigation docket, and a passion for serving the public interest. The ideal candidate will be a skilled and multi-faceted lawyer with relevant experience in environmental and administrative law, a demonstrated ability to work well in a collegial setting, and a strong personal commitment to environmental, natural resource, public lands, and wildlife protection. Although the ideal candidate will have some litigation experience, candidates with strong clinical experience and/or educational qualifications are encouraged to apply. We will consider candidates with 0-10 years of experience; the title of the position and the salary will be commensurate with relevant experience.
Compensation: E&A offers salaries competitive with other public interest law firms and organizations, ranging from $70,000-$90,000 in annual base salary for 0-10 years of litigation experience, plus generous end-of-year bonuses. In addition, E&A offers an excellent benefits package that includes a very compassionate vacation and leave policy; employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance; substantial employer-based retirement contributions; and a prominent emphasis on work-life balance. Although E&A does not qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, E&A provides each qualifying employee with an annual tax-free student loan payment reimbursement as part of the employee’s end-of-year bonus package.
Location: E&A is headquartered in Washington, DC. However, E&A will consider remote working requests on a case-by-case basis.
To Apply: Please send your application packet, combined into a single PDF, which includes each of these documents in the following order: a letter of interest, resume, law school transcript (official or unofficial), a list of at least three professional references, and a short writing sample (no more than 15 pages) to Bill Eubanks at bill@eubankslegal.com. Please include “Attorney Application for [Your Name]” in the subject line of your email.
Timing: We are accepting applications on a rolling basis, and we will conduct interviews once we have identified a sufficient pool of qualified candidates. There is no specific date for the commencement of the position (although we anticipate the start date will be in early 2026), which provides E&A with flexibility to ensure we hire the best candidate for this position.
E&A is an Equal Opportunity Employer and highly values diversity. E&A strongly encourages applications from BIPOC candidates and candidates from other systemically marginalized communities that are underrepresented in the legal profession. Reasonable accommodation will be made so that qualified disabled applicants may participate in the application process. Please advise in writing of special needs at the time of application.
